South Gippsland Itinerary

February 18- 20, 2022 at Ross Farm

Friday, February 18th , 2022

4pm It’s Getaway Time: Guests are welcome to arrive at Ross Farm from 4pm, giving you time to meet your host, get settled in your room & explore your home for the weekend.

5pm Roll Out Your Mat: After the drive, we’ll stretch our legs & move through any nerves with a feel-good flow to drop you into your Mat & Table getaway. Can’t make it to Ross Farm by 5pm? No stress. We (& your drink) will be waiting for you when you can join.

6:45pm Aperitivo O’Clock: An aperitivo is a pre-meal drink & Italian ritual that is meant “to open” the stomach before dining. Have you ever read a definition that you loved so much? Wear something you feel comfortable in, grab some bubbly, & meet your fellow Mat & Tablers.

7:30pm Gippsland to Plate: “Using the raw ingredients our neighbours grow year in, year out, our dishes are a reflection of their love.” — our private chef, Francesco. So, gather around the table & get to know each other while we experience Gippsland’s dishes made with heart.

Early riser? Don’t like to practice on an empty stomach? Your personal kitchens will have coffee, tea, fresh fruit & snacks that you can dip into anytime. Craving a barista-made coffee? Meeniyan town centre is less than 1km away & Moo’s at Meeniyan is at your service.

8:30am Rise & Sun Sal: We'll start the day with Sarah & an invigorating 75 minute flow that will leave you energized for the day ahead.

10am Fill Your Tank: “We all eat, & it would be a sad waste of opportunity to eat badly.” —Anna Thomas. Exactly, Anna. Refuel your body with an abundant brunch spread full of sweet & savory options, fresh juices & local pastries. Oh, & of course, coffee.

11am South Gippsland is Yours To Explore:  This time is yours… Feeling adventurous? Take a visit to the Waratah Hills Winery. Explore charming nearby towns like Meeniyan & Loch Village. Or take a trip to to the gorgeous beaches of Cape Patterson, Venus Bay or Picnic Bay. Can’t bring yourself to leave the beautiful Ross Farm? Crack open a book, explore the grounds, take a cat nap, or soak in your Japanese timber bath.

4pm Yin Bliss: If you’re back to Ross Farm, re-center & slow down for a 60 minute yin practice with hands-on assists that will target your connective tissue for deeper relaxation.

5:30pm Good Wine Without the Guff:

Like us, Nathen Doyle is all about good food & booze. As co-owner of Carlton’s Heartattack & Vine he’s an expert at tasting & picking local wines. When the pandemic temporarily closed the restaurant, Nathen pivoted & created Good Booze. Blind. Good Booze. Blind is designed to teach even the most novice wine drinker how to taste, appreciate, and talk about wine... without any ego. Nathen will lead us through a "blind" tasting, where we'll explore acids, tannins, body, & flavours in a range of wines. You’ll leave with a better understanding of your palate, your likes & dislikes, & how to find more of what you want.

7:30pm A Bountiful Feast: “One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing & devote our attention to eating.” – Luciano Pavarotti. Join Chef Francesco around the table as we feast on a flavourful supper while the sun sets. Oh & try more local wine.

Sunday, February 20, 2022

8am Take It Slow: We’ll start our day by finding connection with breath & body in a nurturing 60 minute Slow Flow with Sarah.

9:15am New Day, New Feast: “One should not attend even the end of the world without a good breakfast” - Robert A. Heinlein. It's not the end of the world, but it is the end of our trip! Before we wrap up, join us one last time around the table. We promise we won’t let you leave unsatisfied.

11am See Ya Later: Unfortunately, we have to give the Ross Farm back to its owners. Take your time packing & saying your goodbyes. If you aren’t in a rush, keep exploring South Gippsland as you make your way back to Melbourne. We suggest stopping off in the beachside town of Inverloch to explore The Caves & Eagle Nest rock formations or stroll Surf Beach. If times allows, swing by Dirty Three Wines for a take-home bottle of Chardonnay or visit the beautiful Udder & Hoe for South Gippsland’s best produce. This way you can re-visit South Gippsland via your taste buds whenever you need!

* Timings & itinerary are subject to change as we roll with the punches of life.
