Mat & Table South Gippsland

  • Ross Farm 84 Hewett Street Meeniyan, VIC, 3956 Australia (map)

This February, join us for a slow paced, intimate & revitalizing weekend set against the backdrop of South Gippsland’s rugged landscape & one of Australia’s most inspiring accommodations, Ross Farm.

Since its opening in 2018, Ross Farm has received rave reviews & recognition by Design Files, The Age, Domain, Real Living, & The Local Project - just to name a few. Originally a family farm, father-daughter duo, Lindsay & Andrea, have made it their project to provide a unique architectural experience for people to come, stay & experience South Gippsland. We booked the farm almost a year ago & we’re so excited to finally share it with you.

While spending time at Ross Farm is an experience in itself, it also serves as a great base from which to explore South Gippsland. Just 2 hours from the CBD, it’s located on the outskirts of the charming township of Meeniyan & looks over 2 acres of open space, with uninterrupted views across the Tarwin Valley.

Our mornings will start with mindful movement, warm cuppas & a full breakfast spread. During the day, you’ll have plenty of time for resting & taking in the surroundings. If you’re feeling adventurous, you may like to visit Waratah Hills Winery, explore charming nearby towns like Meeniyan & Loch Village or even take a trip to Wilson’s Prom. Evenings will be spent around the table together, swapping stories, passing plates & pouring local wines. Delish!

A full itinerary complete with included activities will be released as the date nears. This location is limited to 10 people, so we recommend booking earlier rather than later.

More about Ross Farm:

Robyn & Lindsay Moore purchased the land in 2000. Originally the property was part of a local disused dairy farm. It was Lindsay’s ambitious idea to transform the property into a boutique accommodation to preserve some of the local agricultural architecture of the dairy region & provide a unique architectural experience for people to come, stay & experience South Gippsland. It was also an opportunity for a father-daughter ‘project’, as daughter Andrea, was responsible for designing the unique architecture & aesthetic of the property.

Each of the three buildings has its own aesthetic featuring a eye-catching mix of rustic, textural materials like charred timber, plywood, travertine & raw brass.

Pricing:

  • Bedroom with 1 queen bed (Unfortunately, Ross Farm is unable to separate the queen bed into two single beds. Therefore, if you are coming with a friend or partner, and feel comfortable sharing a queen sized bed, this is your best option.) -SOLD OUT

  • Private room & queen bed to yourself -SOLD OUT

Pricing is all inclusive & a 25% non-refundable downpayment is due with your booking.

Other items you might be curious about:

Upon booking, we will ask about any dietary requirements & if you are traveling solo or with buddies so we can allocate rooms to your comfort.

In the unlikely chance of Melbourne travel restrictions returning, we will certainly postpone for a future date.
